Yeah. I agree, Reindeer is excellent. We have cold-smoked reindeer, warm-smoked reindeer, reindeer stew, dried reindeer heart, dried reindeer whatever meat (heart is the best one so needs special mentioning), Poronkäristys (don't know how to translate it, but like small pieces of reindeer meat with onion, salt and pepper, all fried nicely together, served with puikulaperunat/mandelpotatis (Swedish translation: almond potatoes) special potatoes that require so much sunshine and sandy conditions that it is only found in Northern Finland/Sweden), and lingonberry jam. Plus of course reindeer sausage, reindeer paté, reindeer fillet.... And some more recipes.

Darla, let me know when you are coming over, I'll make sure you will get a good bite of Finnish traditional food, including excellent dishes from Laplan (where reindeer is one self-evident theme....)
